Ariel Halevy was born in Jerusalem . He began his musical education as a piano student of Mrs. Ilana Guttman at the Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and continued his studies with Victor Derevianko. Among his other teachers were Madeline Bruser and Hana Shalgi. Mr. Halevy holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Mannes College of Music, where he was awarded a full scholarship. At Mannes Ariel Halevy studied piano with Nina Svetlanova and Diane Walsh, chamber music with Julius Levine, theory and analysis with Robert Cuckson, and Carl Schachter. He is a prize-winner of the 1995 International Competition in Cincinnati , and in 2000 Ariel Halevy won the Artist International Debut Award. He participated at major music festivals including Aspen , Santa Barbara , Fontainebleau , Tel Hai, and the International Keyboard Institute in New York . Mr. Halevy performs extensively in Israel and abroad. His past and recent engagements include the Carnegie Recital Hall (Weil), Steinway Hall, and Landon Gallery in New York , Henry Crown Symphony Hall in Jerusalem , Jerusalem Music Center, and live broadcast concerts for the IBA. Ariel Halevy performs regularly as soloist with orchestras, in chamber music ensembles, and in piano recitals. Mr. Halevy is a member of the faculty of the Music Department at the Israel Arts and Science Academy and of the piano faculty at Hassadna and at the Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
