Prof. Eytan Agmon of Bar-Ilan University is an music theorist specializing in tonal music, including Schenkerian analysis, rhythm, and the Western musical mind. Currently working on a cognitively oriented and mathematically formulated study of the Western tone-system. A recently developed interdisciplinary course, “Music, Mathematics, and Cognition,” draws students from music, mathematics, computer science, philosophy, and brain research. A Visiting Scholar at the Franke Institute for the Humanities, University of Chicago, 1997–1998, and a Visiting Slee Professor, University at Buffalo, 2003–2004, Prof. Agmon is a Founding Member of ESCOM: European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music. f.
