Prof. Roger Kamien

Prof. Roger Kamien holds the Zubin Mehta Chair, emeritus, at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Professor Kamien studied piano with Anna Kamien, Nadia Reisenberg, and Claudio Arrau, and music analysis with Felix Salzer and Ernst Oster, He has published Music: An Appreciation (McGraw-Hill), now in its ninth edition, and articles on Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and music analysis in such scholarly journals as Music Forum, The Beethoven Forum, and Music Theory Spectrum. Dr. Kamien has given lecture-recitals at universities throughout the world—including universities and conservatories in Milan, Melbourne, Bangkok, Shanghai, and Beijing—on the connection between music analysis and performance
